The first 10 minutes of the game had both teams having heated exchanges due to some late challenges from the Chelmsley Town players, which the referee had to intervene and stamp his authority on the game.
The first real chance came not long after with the Chelmsley forward beating the offside trap and the Bilbrook defence for pace, only for his shot to be sliced high and wide. This woke Bilbrook up and on 25 minutes took the lead after a inch perfect pass was took under control and was lifted over the top of the opposition goalkeeper who was sliding out to make the save.
The second goal came on the stroke of half time when Bilbrook where awarded an penalty after a foul just inside the box. The penalty itself was placed to the goalkeepers left, who had guessed the correct way to dive and got a hand on it but could only push it into his own net.

As the second half started Bilbrook had barely had a chance to blink, as Chelmsley reduced the deficit within 30 seconds of the restart. It was now game on.
Chelmsley with the rejuvenated belief so early on where hoping that the shock they had caused to Bilbrook would be enough to get them level quickly. However Bilbrook stood firm and had to ride it out and bring the tempo of the game back down to a level where they could dictate the game.
From here the game had little chances after that with Bilbrook shooting high a wide and Chelmsley having a chance one on one with the goalkeeper who was alert to the danger, flying out his area and clearing the ball down field.
