Both Bilbrook and AFC Birmingham had to battle awful weather conditions at the start of the game as the rain poured down. It was Bilbrook who had the better of the opening 15 minutes but were not able to make it count. After some sloppy play in midfield, if was AFC Birmingham who hit the front, taking the lead against the run of play on 25 minutes.
As the half wore on neither team really looked like scoring, but in added time in the first half Bilbrook found a way back into the game drawing level with a fine goal.

Whatever had been said during the half time talk had spurred Bilbrook up a gear from the start of the second half and it only took 5 minutes for them to get ahead as AFC Birmingham had switched off waiting for an offside flag that did not come. After a deliberating with the linesman on the far side the Referee awarded the goal, 2-1 Bilbrook.
With this new lease of life Bilbrook continued to take the game to their opponents and were again rewarded after a fine through ball found our forward who slotted home. The game was complete when Bilbrook where awarded a penalty on 71 minutes. A breakaway from Bilbrook's forward saw him wiped out as he was about to pull the trigger, the penalty was dispatched convincingly sealing a 4-1 win.
The win saw Bilbrook climb back to the top of the table.
