Exactly one week from Bilbrook East's Cup heroics they met Trysull Tigers again, this time a league fixture.
Both teams started with a spring in their step, as the opening 10 minutes were all about feeling what each team was about. However it was not long after that Trysull Tigers took the lead. A long ball beat everyone but their striker who shot low to the goalkeepers left to make it 1-0.
Feeling a bit of deja vu from the previous week Bilbrook were determined not to have themselves an uphill task for the second week running. We were behind for only 10 minutes though, as Logan launched a long throw in towards the edge of the Trysull box and Roberto took the ball on with his head and fired home low across to the goalkeeper to draw us level.
Trysull then struck again only minutes later. A corner came in and we failed on two occasions to clear our lines and a low shot came from the edge of the area, through a crowd of bodies an into the net. Right on half time Bilbrook drew level again. A fine ball over the top from Jesse was latched onto by Roberto, who again fired passed the oncoming goalkeeper.
Half Time - Trysull Tigers 2-2 Bilbrook East
From the start of the second half Bilbrook pushed harder than before and not long after we took the lead for the first time in the game. Again Logan was architect as his long clearance beat the defence and Ethan with his pace obliged to make it 3-2. This seemed to stun Trysull, who were now completely on the back foot and panicking.
Seven minutes from time we killed the game altogether and settled our own nerves that may of been creeping in. A corner from the near side was half cleared and Logan was to cap of an incredible performance with his first goal of the season with a calm side footed shot into the bottom left hand corner.
